If you are anything like us, your PCS experience might go something like this: Get notified you are going to be PCSing. Dream about going to the most coveted duty station for your Branch. PCS Orders Received: Exactly not where you had planned on going. You have no idea where to live at your new duty station. On post? Off Base? So you ask around, get 3rd hand info (every unit has “that Guy” who knows every thing about the PCS process and everything about the new duty station and the exact perfect place to live.) You spend every waking moment researching, looking at houses that won’t even be available by the time you move there.
Missing the Mark
We were so sick and tired of going to all these different websites and forums to figure out where we would live, are the schools good? How was the traffic driving to work? What kind of sports programs and youth activities did each town offer. If we did find a site that looked promising , we quickly realized that someone was trying to sell us a house or get us to create an account to get our info which they would in turn sell. At times we had taken friends recommendations on where to live and other times realtors guided us, but we usually ended up kicking our selves after signing a 2 year lease or buying a house, only to realize the exact area that best fit our needs was on the other side of town.
It’s a real problem of finding an actual house or apartment that is safe, in a great neighborhood, with great schools, that fits your needs. Oh and by the way, you have 10 days to find a place, or it’s coming out of your pocket. The anxiety of the unknown and the frustration from the lack of resources to find an area you want to live is just too much sometimes. We usually look forward to the next PCS, the excitement of a new area but then the mood tends to turn to the all too familiar phase of feeling confused, frustrated and overwhelmed.
Military members and their families shouldn’t have to go through the anxiety, confusion, and the feeling of being overwhelmed before they even get to their new duty station. You have enough on your plate with finding an actual house, new schools, new jobs, impeding deployments, new friends etc.
So we made Military PCS Guide so you don’t have to deal with the unknown. We know your time is limited when you PCS. Find the area that fits your needs first, once you know the area you are confident in, spend your time concentrating a search for an actual house, condo or apartment in that area. Our team is made up of Active duty or recently retired Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast-guardsmen and their families. We range from the Field grade officer perspective to E-1 perspective. We have the experience, the network and the know-how to guide you before, during , and after you PCS . Let us guide you with the most accurate and up to date information that you can actually use.
You are the solution
